BELLEAIR, Fla. – No. 2 ·¬ÇÑÊÓƵ posted the round of the day the opening 18 holes of the 2024 SEC Women’s Golf Championship on Friday. The Gamecocks shot 275 (-5) and sit four clear at the top of the leaderboard ahead of No. 10 Auburn and No. 16 Texas A&M.

Junior All-Americans Hannah Darling and Louise Rydqvist led the way in a group effort round one at Pelican Golf Club. Darling shot 67 (-3) with four birdies and just one bogey on her card. She was bogey free on the back nine. Rydqvist turned in a 2-under 68 thanks to four birdies, all on the front nine. She put circles on her scorecard on three consecutive holes from seven to nine. Rydqvist was also bogey free on the back nine.

Sophomore Mia Sandtorv Lussand, who has been trending upwards with some of her best golf of the season, also fired a red number with a 1-under 69. She made a trio of birdies. Freshman Vairana Heck was the final counting score with a 71 (+1). Fellow French freshman Maylis Lamoure shot 72 (+2).

All five players for the Gamecocks sit inside the top-30 of the 70-player leaderboard.

The Gamecocks will tee off early again tomorrow at 8 a.m. (ET) alongside the Tigers and Aggies. Lamoure will be the first player off again from hole.
